Simplicity 3511

Here are the matching dresses. The fabric has a little bit of glitter on it which you can't see in the photos.

I made Abby's a little thinner because she is very thin and I wanted it to fit.

Kaylee's dress is made a little wider.

Here are the bows I made to match. I actually made them during chemo.

Here is the pattern envelope. I did the blue and white dress but used all the same fabric.

Here is the back view. It has two cute buttons which I love.

Simplicity 3856

Here are the girl's Valentine Day's outfits.

I used coordinating fabrics for the skirt. The shirt is appliqued with hearts. The bows are from a few years ago.

Because I didn't have enough fabric to make exact matching skirts I switched the colors.

Here is a close up of the shirt. I cut out hearts using the matching fabric. I infused them to the shirt then did a zig-zag stitch all around the hearts. Very easy!

Here is the pattern I used for the skirts. I liked the skirts so much that I am planning on making the dress with the shrug.

Simplicity 2265

This is the pattern envelope. I did the dress on the top right.

This is Abby's dress. I think this is the first time her dress actually fits.

Here is Kaylee's dress. I love how the two fabrics look together.

Here is the back. The pattern called for 4 buttons but I found larger buttons so I only used 3. I also didn't like how the straps in the back turned out. It would have made more sense to move them closer to the arm holes.

Here is a picture of the headband. I took some fabric and made a rolled rose. Then hot glued it to some felt. I then hot glued it to the headband.

Here is a picture of the "petals" on the front of the dress. I love how these turned out.

Felt Headbands

Here are the headbands I made for my niece's birthday. Abby was kind enough to model them (although she wasn't a very happy model.) This one is snowflakes. I hot glued jewels on the snowflakes to give them a little sparkle.

This one is a flower. I just layered two different colors and sizes and sewed a button in the middle.

This one is three flowers that I layered.

This one I cut individual petals and arranged them to make a flower then put a yellow piece in the center.

This one is stacked circles. I used my pinking shears to make the zigzag.

This one is my favorite. I cut different sized circles. On some I used my pinking shears to make the zigzag while others I left alone.

Simplicity 1949

I am finally getting to posting the girl's Christmas dresses. This was the first time I did a square neck. I also added ribbon to the sleeve and neck.

Here is a picture of the two dresses together. The bottom was done on the serger. It was the first time I did a rolled hem. Not sure I like that part.

Here is a picture of the girls in their dresses. I paired the dress with black boots.
Here is the pattern envelope. I did the long sleeve green dress.

Thanksgiving dresses

Here are the dresses I made for Thanksgiving. I actually made them last year for the girls and they of course were huge. They look much better this year.
Here is Kaylee in her dress. To make the dress I took three different fabrics and sewed them together. Then I just hemmed the bottoms and added ribbon to the arm holes.
Here is Abby in her dress. I will probably get a few more years use out of these. I love the orange in these dresses. I usually don't get orange for the girls because it washes them out but with the green it doesn't look to bad.
Here is all of us on Thanksgiving.

Simplicity 3582 and Simplicity 2572

Here is a picture of Kaylee's Halloween costume. She was a poodle. I really don't like the way this turned out. Because it was so cold I decided to let her wear sweats and sweatshirt. I had planned to dress her in tights for both legs and arms. She also wouldn't wear the ears I made.
I used this pattern for the vest. The pattern was fairly easy but working with the fur was another story.
I used this pattern for the skirt. It once again was easy but working with the fur wasn't so easy. For the arm and leg cuffs I just cut strips of fur and sewed them together.
