Butterick 4966

Here is the pattern envelope. I only had enough fabric to make the jumper for Kaylee.

Here is the finished product. I wanted to make something different so instead of using the dress I picked the jumper.

Here is a close-up of the neck. It was a basic square neck with little flutter sleeves. Very easy!

Here is the back view. I couldn't find a pink invisible zipper so I had to get a white one. Wish I would have gone to another fabric store because I don't like how the white one turned out.

Here Kaylee is showing us that they are indeed shorts. They are pretty loose so it sometimes looks like a dress. She won't be able to wear this for very long only because it doesn't help when potty training!

Simplicity 2376

Here is the pattern envelope. I used the yellow dress.

Here are both girls. I didn't have enough fabric to make two dresses, so Kaylee got a skirt.

Here is Abby in her dress. I love the color. It is actually longer than it looks in this picture. Abby wanted to hold up her dress.

Kaylee's skirt took me 30 minutes to cut and sew. I barely had enough fabric to make the skirt so it isn't very full.

Here is a close-up of the collar. I love the ruffle around the yoke. It was pretty easy.

And of course here is the back view. I used an invisible zipper and it went in really easily!

McCalls 4814

Here is the pattern envelope I used. I used the pink dress as my pattern.

Here is Kaylee in her dress. I actually made this dress a few months before Easter and Kaylee's dress ended up being really big on her. I had to take up each layer just to make it short enough for her.

Here is Abby's dress. Her dress fit perfectly!

Here are the girls together. I actually wanted the dresses to be exactly the same but I didn't have enough fabric to do that so I had to change my plans. I love how they look the same but different.

Here are the backs of the dress. I loved making these because there was no zipper to put in.

And of course these dresses were perfect for twirling!

Birthday Skirts

Here is a picture of the girls in their birthday skirts. Ignore Kaylee's face. She didn't want her picture taken!

The skirts were fairly easy. I found a tutorial online that I followed.

Kaylee's skirt is a little short but she loved twirling around in it. I wanted to add an applique to the shirt but didn't know what the weather would be like and then I ran out of time.

The skirt is a circle skirt with a underskirt under it to make it fuller. The ruffle at the bottom took forever!

Simplicity 3512

Here is the pattern envelope. I left off the sash.

The dress turned out the perfect length and fit very well. John says this is the best dress I have made to date. I only had enough fabric to make one dress so I made it for Abby. I figure that the dress will get more wear if I make it for Abby because when she grows out of it, Kaylee will get to wear it.

Here is the top. It is hard to see the detail because the fabric is so busy but it is a criss-cross neckline with a ruffle. I don't know if you can see the print on the fabric but it is yellow with hot pink raspberries.

Here is the back of the dress. It has an invisible zipper. I love how it turned out.

Simplicity 1906

Here is the pattern envelope. I love the look of these pants.

Here are their pants. And you ask where will they wear these? To the circus of course!

Kaylee's pants were too long when I got finished so I had to cut off some of the pant and re-attach the ruffle. The proportions aren't right but they still work. I bought Kaylee a shirt that had bows around the neckline but the day of the circus when I put it on it was huge!

Here are Abby's pants. These fit much better than Kaylee's pants. I took a red shirt and added some ruffled ribbon around the neckline.
For the hair bows I took ribbon and ran a wide stitch in one side then ruffled it. Then I rolled it into a rose.
Here is a picture of us at the circus.

Simplicity 2193

Here is the pattern envelope. I didn't have enough fabric to make two dresses so I decided to shorten them and make them into matching shirts. I made the dress in the top right, the red one.
Here are the two girls together. The shirts actually ended up shorter than I thought they would.

Here is a close-up of the top. The sleeves are very full. Not sure if I like them. I have been doing more shirts lately and wanted to try these sleeves.

Here is Abby in her shirt. I do like the way this looks with a turtleneck under it.

Here is Kaylee in her shirt. I used a headband I had made to go with another dress. It matches almost perfectly.
